It goes past the power of my words to express my personal interviews from juvenile offenders who were sexually molested while being in society, prisons, jails, and assaulted by family members, friends and those in authority they trusted.
Did you know since 1973 – 2022, over a million sexual assaults have occurred through out Michigan prisons, jails, correctional centers and half way houses?
After testimonies of hundreds of sexually abused Michigan juvenile offenders, who were waived over as adults and sentence to prison they volunteer to break their codes of silence and answer personal questions.
Again a enormous number of young offenders being victims have codes of silence and never reveal their secrets of being repeatedly raped.
Within young offenders testimonies I found out what it meant by rooting the pig and that 98% of juvenile offenders were sentenced to life with or without parole and 99% of young offenders were sent to Ionia Reformatory; that young offenders proudly named Gladiator School and all new arrivals were initiated by fighting in the prison arenas located on the block gallery bunk heads.
Furthermore the Gladiator School had a treacherous and violent reputation of murders, rapes, and stabbing. I uncovered that 98% of young offenders who were interconnected to adulthood in prisons had experienced sexual assaults at the age of 5 – 11 years old and are suffering from unstable identity from being brutally molested and rented out into prostitution.
It was amazing hearing testimonies from young offenders in rehabilitation programs talking about how fear, threats, and being manipulated and how predators kept them bound to chained secrecy and how sexual abuse programs need curable remedies to help young offenders over come low self-esteem, hate and revenge.
Also young offenders pointed out the need for officials to be educated to prevent, detect, and respond to sexual abuses, and they recommended that outside organizations should become involved.
However 99% of young offenders pointed out that Michigan Department of Corrections fail them by not protecting them and providing adequate resources, staffing or training and covered up sexual abuses.
Furthermore 98% of young offenders indicated that the Department of Corrections, should have had tighter safety nets of protection, that would have prevented them from being raped.
Finally the United States Supreme Court has ruled that juveniles sentenced to life with or without parole is unconstitutional.
The Michigan Supreme Court must decide on juveniles age requirements.
