My loved one reports that there is an outbreak of Scabies at Parnall (SMT).
Apparently it was one unit at first, but now they are treating the whole compound with Ivermectin. I am sure they don’t want to deal with another lawsuit.
Everyone received a Jpay about how to handle their property.
They were allowed to keep one set of clothes and TV/Tablet. The rest of their clothing was sent to MSI laundry. Other property items were placed in lockers with barrier tape and instructions not to open until authorized.
Scabies will die without human contact within about three-four days. So clothing and property can be placed in plastic bags for that time period and should then be safe to use. Or perhaps lockers and laundry will suffice.
Except! Clothing was washed and returned from the laundry and it was damp. Not fully dry. And we know there is no real HOT water being used. So is that clothing really free of scabies? Or will we be doing this all over again next month?
